What is this blog about?
In this week’s blog, we take a look at the Property Partners Recruitment (PPR) Salary Survey 2024. This is relevant to both Land & Property and Built Environment professionals.
We are often asked by RICS APC candidates about their career and salary prospects. We generally recommend speaking to a good recruiter in their area of practice or geographic region.
This Salary Survey is a great example of the content and tools that are out there to assess your market worth (note: always an opportunity to mention valuation!).
Understanding the market context, your current firm's dynamics and potential opportunities will help you to make the right career decisions. This could be seeking a pay rise, asking for better benefits, rotating through departments or moving firms altogether. Asking for professional advice is key, as is speaking to your existing employer if you are facing challenges.

We receive no financial incentive or referral fee to share this report or to feature PRP. We do so only because we believe it is helpful for surveyors to read. There are other reports and recruitment firms that you can find out about online.
What were the key findings?
7 in 10 respondents received a pay rise in the last 12 months
The average pay rise was 7%
Almost 70% of respondents had to be in the office 1-2 days a week or less
Only 9% of respondents were expected to be in the office 5 days a week
Salary was still the most important factor when looking for a new role
Flexible working, location and hybrid working were the next most important factors
48% of respondents receive bonuses
The median bonus payment was £3,800
What else will the report tell me?
The Report provides salary ranges and typical salaries for Building Surveyors, Professional Quantity Surveyors, Project Managers, General Practice Surveyors, Valuation Surveyors, Agency Surveyors and Estates Surveyors.
It also provides wider analysis of packages on offer, including car allowances (average allowance of £5,200) and other bonuses.
